The Canucks are back to face the Edmonton Oilers following a couple of days off that was spent taking hilarious pictures. How will they do against the proverbial bottom-feeders of the West? And will we even give a crap considering who is in town on Saturday? Read on to find out.
Hey everyone! Been a while since I’ve posted on here. Hell, it’s been a while since I’ve had anything post anywhere! With “lockout out this” and “hockey related revenue that”, it felt like hockey would never be back and I would never get to post another one of my grammatically incorrect blog posts on to […]
This is the second installment of ‘Roberto Luongo Trade Rumour Bonanza’! Our first installment pondered the chances of Luongo being traded to the Toronto Maple Leafs. Today, we look at the chances of the Edmonton Oilers landing Roberto Luongo. As you may have heard by now, Roberto Luongo is likely on his way out of […]
Yeah, you heard me: Brule and girlfriend Kelsey Nichols were driving to a park to walk Bella, their German shepherd, on Tuesday afternoon near the West Vancouver Yacht club when they spotted a couple of hitchhikers on the side of the road.
There’s a lot of talk about whether or not the Canucks are “Canada’s team” lately, given that they’re the last remaining Canadian team in the playoffs and the fact that a Canadian based team has not won the Stanley Cup since 1993. So are they Canada’s team? Do we care?
We’re now less than 24 hours away from the NHL trade deadline (the deadline is at noon on Monday) and there are plenty of rumours going around. The latest has the Canucks interested in Marty Reasoner. I first brought up this idea 11 days ago, and it’s nice to see that it looks like Mike Gillis has listened. Matthew Sekeres reported that the Canucks have indeed inquired about Reasoner, but he and the Panthers are talking about a contract extension. Sekeres also offered up this tidbit, that the Canucks tried to acquire Reasoner at last year’s trade deadline, but the Thrashers (his team at the time) wanted a 2nd round draft pick for him.
It looks like the Canucks scouting staff was working overtime last night. Ben Kuzma (better known as “the Kooz”) reports that Canucks scouts have been spotted at the Atlanta-Buffalo and Florida-Ottawa games last evening. Edmonton broadcaster Dan Tencer also reported that Canucks scouts were at the Edmonton-Colorado game as well. At this time of year it probably shouldn’t come as much of a surprise that the Canucks are looking at a potential trade and they do have a few areas that they could improve in. So what does this mean? RUMOUR TIME!
Okay, so yesterday, Rob did a post about the NHL’s new Guardians project. First off, who the f’k reads comics anymore? I mean, I get that there are still plenty of longtime diehard fans of comics and graphic novels. But the goal of this partnership with Stan Lee is to attract young fans. Young fans […]
Well Canucks fans, what do you think of this? Meet “Canuck”, one of 30 NHL super heroes. Sort of like Batman if he lived in the sea. You can read all about his super powers here. This is all part of a new partnership between the NHL and the creator of Spider Man, Stan Lee. Will it inspire young fans to take an interest in the NHL? I’m not sure, but I guess it’s worth a shot. Personally, it’s not doing anything for me, but they’re kind of funny to look at.
