Luongo’s back! Eriksson re-assigned to Utica.

As mentioned last week, Roberto Luongo was battling a groin injury that resulted in Joacim Eriksson being recalled.

It looks like Luongo will be back with the Canucks this weekend on their California trip.

Eriksson was reassigned to Utica today, which is a clear indication that Luongo will be available to at least serve as back-up during the weekend back-to-back vs LA and Anaheim.

Although it has not been announced, I would expect Luongo to start on Saturday versus Los Angeles, and then Eddie Lack should get the start in Anaheim. After recovering from this injury I wouldn’t expect Luongo to start both.

Lack has held the fort admirably with Luongo injured, posting a 2.06 GAA, 0.917 save percentage and 1 shutout during his last 5 appearances.
