The Vancouver Canucks look to get back on track with an early 10am PST match-up vs the Carolina Hurricanes.

Last Game

The Canucks completely sucked in a 5-2 loss to Alain Vigneault’s New York Rangers. An epic cluster fuck of a game! I’m seriously depressed, but came across this picture which cheered me up (gotta lighten mood somehow).

The Carolina Hurricanes

The Hurricanes have had a relatively unsuccessful start to this season and are generally a pretty vanilla team. Carolina is coming off of a 5-2 drubbing at the hands of Martin Brodeur’s New Jersey Devils and currently sit 6th in the anemic Metropolitan division. Clearly the Devils are still reeling from the shock of the Zac Dalpe – Jeremy Welsh trade.

Canucks Lines

Eddie Lack gets the start and Zac Dalpe is in for Zack Kassian. The lines are likely to look like this:

D. Sedin – H. Sedin – Burrows

Hansen – Kesler – Higgins

Both – Santorelli - Weise

Sestito – Richardson – Dalpe

Garrison – Edler

Hamhuis – Tanev

Stanton – Bieksa

The pretend Larscheid report…

1. Show Up

It is time for the Canucks to show up and put forth a full 60 minutes of aggressive hockey. Enough of the bullshit, just do it!

2. Set The Alarm Clock

Another early start for the Canucks and they better make sure they set the alarm clock. No doubt the Canucks were still pressing snooze halfway through the debacle in New York. We do not need a repeat.

3. Stellar Goaltending

I don’t want to rag on Roberto Luongo, but someone has to lead this team. It is obvious that the Canucks have no problem outshooting their opposition and on many nights they out work their opposition as well, but I’m not totally convinced that Luongo couldn’t help this team to a greater extent. Luongo needs to take this team on his back and will them to a win!

Prediction

Every fibre of my being says the Canucks will comeback with a very good performance against the Hurrricanes after an absolute dud vs the Rangers. This kind of makes me worried because I should be worried! The Canucks beat the Hurricanes 4-1!
