I love the story he told at his retirement press conference about going to a Hartford Whalers game as a kid. Apparently Gordie Howe skated by during the pregame warm-up, picked up a bunch of snow on his stick and dumped it on Roenick's head. It stuck with him for years.

I've always been a huge fan of JR! This is a guy who embodies all that is fun (and crazy) about hockey! Soft spoken, polite athletes? Save that for figure skating! n nThe NHL needs Roenick's help in marketing and hyping up the game! He is hockey's Shaq!
